Paris

paris city in Japanese Kanji

Overview

The capital of France. Located in the central part of the Paris Basin in the northern part of the country, the Seine River runs through the city. It has developed as a central city in all aspects of this country, which was one of the fastest unified European countries, and its activities in all sectors such as politics, economy, industry and culture, science and art are still unprecedented in Paris. It is concentrated and is the “capital” in the most typical sense of the world’s largest cities.

industry

Traditional “Paris products” since the Middle Ages include jewelry, precious metal, musical instruments, luxury furniture, perfumes, luxury costumes, as well as precision instruments, publications, the music industry and movies. These industries have long been concentrated in or near the city, as they are closely linked to Parisian human activities such as commerce, literary activities and tourism. Typical examples still remain, such as the precious metalwork in the Marais and Temple districts, the furnishings in the Santantoane district, and the publication of the Latin Quarter (Latin Quarter) on the left bank. On the other hand, the entire metropolitan area forms the largest and most diverse industrial area with 25% of the country’s economically active population. This is largely due to the special conditions as the capital of a centralized nation, such as population, concentration of capital, and administrative functions, in addition to its natural location.

The banks of the Seine, lined with various historical buildings, were registered as a World Heritage Site in 1991 by UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) as the “Banks of the Seine in Paris”.
