The local name is Al-Iskandarīyah. Egypt’s second largest city. It is the largest trading port and extends horizontally and elongated facing the Mediterranean Sea. Famous as an Arab summer resort.
A port of shipment of cotton, vegetables and fruits. With industries such as chemicals, textiles, food and shipbuilding, it is also the commercial center where the world’s first cotton futures trading market was established. There is an international airport.
