Description for “Europe in Kanji”
One of the six great states. It occupies the peninsula-like part of the western Eurasian continent. It is said that the name is derived from the word Ereb (sunset, meaning west) from ancient Assyrian. Generally, it is collectively called Europe including the islands of the Mediterranean Sea, Britain, Iceland, etc. and the continental part west of the line connecting the Dardanelles Strait-Black Sea-Caucasus Mountains-Caspian Sea-Ural Mountains.
